What is CBD Isolate
CBD Isolate is a pure, crystalline powder that contains 99% pure CBD. This CBD product only contains CBD and nothing more because the plant contained in the hemp plant including oils, waxes, chlorophyll and the others are removed. So, it offers nothing more but CBD.
In other words, this is purified CBD that has been extracted from the marijuana plant and isolated from the other cannabinoids. CBD isolate is pure CBD as how its name suggests, it is “CBD isolate” because the CBD is isolated from the rest of the cannabinoids.
CBD isolate is THC-free, low-cost and extremely versatile.
What is CBD Isolate Used For
CBD is popular for its health benefits. In fact, this is popularly used to treat a wide range of diseases.

CBD Isolate Effects
CBD isolate supports your health and wellness. The stimulation of the endocannabinoid system through CBD’s interaction with cannabinoid receptors in the brain and elsewhere support the EC system and its effort to regulate function. A more efficient and well-running endocannabinoid system means greater balance and optimal functioning.
However, individuals may have different reactions from using this nutritional supplement. In general, the majority of those who used this have positive things to say about it. But, I’m telling you that the CBD isolate effects can vary by person because CBD’s influence on the endocannabinoid system and other receptor system tends to affect people differently.
Some said that they are “in the flow” or that it brings a “sense of calmness” to them. For others, it keeps them “more awake” or “energized.” Meanwhile, for others, the results manifest in feeling better and enjoying better quality of sleep at night.
Here are the reasons why CBD isolate effects vary.
Genetic makeup: Some people naturally have more cannabinoid receptors to interact with the CBD delivered through CBD isolates.
Biological sex: Females are more sensitive to cannabinoid products like CBD isolate perhaps due to their naturally higher estrogen levels.
Nutrition and lifestyle: How often you exercise, what’s your eating and drinking habits and how you manage stress can influence your endocannabinoid system and how it responds to taking CBD isolate.
Physical health: Health conditions can alter biochemistry, potentially influencing how the body responds to pure CBD powder.
Body composition: Individuals with a higher body fat percentage typically need higher servings to experience the same natural CBD isolate effects.
Personal tolerance: The frequency of you taking CBD isolate may matter. Those who take CBD isolate regularly will often react differently than someone who does not.
Aside from the aforementioned, the following may also affect the CBD isolate effects on your body.
- Frequency of CBD isolate intake.
- Serving size of CBD isolate
- The method you use to take CBD isolate
CBD Isolate Benefits
Yes, CBD isolate isn’t as popular as CBD oil, but getting this also comes with a number of advantages compared to other CBD products because it is pure CBD. For instance, you can use this to make CBD tincture, CBD capsules, CBD topicals and more.
Here are some of the benefits of CBD isolate that makes it premier commodity hemp or CBD product:
- High purity
- Consistency
- Stability
- Ease of handling
- Ease of measurement
- Mild flavor and smell
- Negligible levels of CBD
- Helps with several
- Simple to understand, measure and trade
- Makes a great manufacturing ingredient or commodity
How to Use CBD Isolate
CBD isolate can be administered in a number of ways because as mentioned, it is versatile. Here are the different ways to use CBD isolate.
Drop it under your tongue
This is the simplest way to take an isolate — use it as a sublingual by simply dropping it under your tongue. The method of ingestion is known to be more bioavailable than swallowing CBD which means that less of the precious substance passes through the body unused.
Simply drop the desired amount of isolate under your tongue and hold it there for 60 to 90 seconds. Wash it down with some water or juice and you’re good.
Add it to your food
All cannabinoids are fat soluble. This means they mix into fatty substances like oil. You can easily add isolate into many types of edible food products containing ingredients like butter, coconut milk or cooking oil. You can also use the CBD as a “seasoning” and sprinkle it on top of nearly anything. The options are basically endless. Here is a short list of the food where you can add CBD tincture.
- Honey
- Muffins
- Cookies
- Brownies
- Gummies
- Candies
- Dog/Cat treats
- Salad Dressing
- Bulletproof Coffee
The CBD molecule is hydrophobic so it doesn’t dissolve into the water. We do not recommend adding isolate to your drinks unless it contains a small amount of oil.
However, at the time, there are already some technological advances that have enabled manufacturers to create power and liquid-form emulsified CBD which will disperse into the water.
Add to your Vape Juice
This is very straightforward, just add isolate to an existing vape juice. You get to choose how much to add and control the overall potency. This is a great option for existing e-cigarette users who want to start vaping CBD.
Make a CBD tincture
Tincture is very easy to create and you can make one using isolate. In this way, you will save money compared to buying them pre-made. In this way, you will also get to control over the carrier oil, potency and any flavoring additives.
Before you start, make sure that you have a dropper bottle, a CBD isolate and carrier oil ready. The most common carrier oils are MTC oil or hemp seed oil. Both of these can be purchased at your local health food store or online, so you can easily access it. Once all the ingredients are ready, you just have to decide on the concentration, then mix them up.
Tip: Crystalline CBD will mix into carrier substance more quickly if heated. Continue adding heat and mixing until the cloudiness (undissolved CBD crystals) disappears. Preheating the fatty substance to 175°F-200°F (80°C-93°C) before mixing is ideal. Once fully emulsified, keep it in the refrigerator to keep it from re-crystallizing.
Make CBD Topicals
If you make your own salves and creams, isolate will be a great additional ingredient. Just follow one of the many online tutorials in making a salve or cream and make your own topical CBD to an existing oil-based product.
Make CBD Capsules
Just like a tincture, CBD capsules are easy to make because both have the same ingredients. You just have to adjust the concentration because the capsule can only hold a small amount of liquid.
MTC oil is a great carrier oil for anything CBD-based that you’ll be swallowing. For capsules, get some veggie caps. Both of these can be found at your local health food store or online.
Open the capsules and fill them with the CBD/oil mixture and pop it back together. For capsules, commonly used concentration is 10-25mg of CBD per capsule.
Create your own Terpsolate
Terpsolate is a combination of CBD isolate and liquid terpene extraction. Terpenes add an extra dimension to the dabbing or vaping experience. When you add this to an isolate you end up with a partial entourage effect because this compound can add uplifting, positive and energizing or sedating, relaxing and calming tone to your isolate.
To make a terpsolate just add a small amount of liquid terp extract to your isolate and stir. You can easily manipulate the terpsolate into your dab rig or wax vape pen.
Sprinkle on top of smoked or vaped marijuana
This last one is for recreational or medical marijuana users. You can sprinkle some CBD on top of your flower when smoking or vaping herb. The added CBD is known to smooth out the THC-induced high.
CBD is known to counteract the harsher psychoactive side of THC and produce a more enjoyable high in addition to the added therapeutic benefits of higher CBD concentration.
Overall, CBD isolate is versatile that you can use it in different ways. You can eat this, dab this, smoke it or vaporize it. You can also use this to make your own tincture or capsules. You can also dab it or rub it on your skin.
How to Make CBD Isolate
CBD is derived from the hemp plant which contains high concentrations of CBD relative to other cannabinoids and is federally legal if it has less than 0.3% THC.
The growing process starts with the hemp seed, which is typically bred and cultivated to have a high CBD ratio and is required to have under 0.3% THC. When the hemp plant reaches maturity, it is harvested and dried before going through a CBD extraction process.
The most effective method for processing high-quality CBD isolated extracts without leaving residual solvents is C02 extractions. As CBD extract is heated, pure CBD crystals collect in the oil and can be filtered.
The remaining hemp extract will contain trace amounts of other plant material but CBD crystals can be refined 99.9% pure CBD, the highest level of purity. This 99.9% pure crystalline CBD is then grounded into a powder and used in many THC-free CBD products.
CBD Isolate Vs Full Spectrum
CBD isolate is the purest form of CBD. It doesn’t contain any other cannabis compounds which makes it a great option for those who fear to take CBD product with any amount of THC.
THC is the most psychoactive agent in the cannabis plant and has been stigmatized due to its intoxicating effects. However, some studies show that CBD and THC are both powerful cannabinoids that can work well when used together. In CBD isolate, THC is completely removed.
Meanwhile, a full spectrum or whole plant CBD contains CBD and other cannabinoids. This also includes other parts of the plant including terpenes (that influence the smell and flavor of the extract) and essential oils.
In addition, a hemp-derived full spectrum CBD product contains trace amounts of THC (only up to 0.3 percent) and other cannabinoids each with unique concentrations. Meanwhile, the “cannabis spectrum“ refers to the balance of cannabinoid concentrations which influence the cannabis product’s profile. When specific cannabinoids are isolated from hemp or cannabis, this can alter the “symphony” of the components that work together.
Still confused? Here’s a good example from Daddy Burt to make this simpler to understand.
For example, you have a Vitamin C deficiency and you want a highly functional way to get the vitamin then you will be advised to take isolated Vitamin C. However, if you want a generalized benefits then eating an orange fruit is a good option because it has Vitamin C and other nutrients (similar to full spectrum CBD).
Here’s a table that shows the difference between the two.
CBD Isolates | Full Spectrum CBD |
Pure CBD | Contains CBD and other naturally occurring plant compounds |
No THC or other cannabinoids | Contains less than 0.3 percent THC |
No plant compounds like terpenes | Undergoes fewer processes than CBD isolate |
Processed further than full spectrum CBD | Works synergistically with THC and other plant compounds |
Delivers straight CBD |
